When we bought our land a couple of years ago we knew that an old farm house on the property was not ours but that that the hog pen that belonged to the farm was ours. While it was hidden in overgrowth then, it has not gotten any better over the years.
Now that the pond work is done, Eddie convinced me that while he had the back hoe it would be easier to clear out areas with overhanging limbs with the hoe vs with his bull dozer. As we would like to try and save the hog pen, I gave him the go ahead. The tree that is bearing down on the pens roof is a bodock, a tough, hard wood that is the bane on many a landscaper. Eddie got to work and here is the end result.
More about the bodock
We might be able to put it back into service after all!
