Last year one of the two hives she keeps suddenly didn’t have any more bees in it. That meant that they more than likely swarmed leaving for new quarters. In the Fall I thought I saw a bee hive up in a tree behind our pond but when I went out to find it again to show Pat it was gone. Then, right as deer hunting season was ending, we spotted the hive in front of the pond high up in a tree. It is of a very interesting design and even Hugh Leigh says he has never seen a hive like it before.
Now, how do we get the honey out of it? Or, better yet, move them back to their original home?
