When we had work done on our pond before we started building, we took advantage of having our ‘dirt man’ work on tree clearing and clean up. Next to our house he saw pecan trees that he suggested we save as not only are they good-looking trees but they bear fruit, too.
Consequently he made a small grove that is starting to take form and with Pat’s bees have started to produce pecans. Here is a picture with some mid-sized pecans that hopefully will continue to grow bigger and then ripen.
I just noticed that they are no longer green but a nice tan color. It looks like I will be able to use my pecan picker upper this season.
